Why I Can’t Keep My Purple and Yellow Tangs Together
Hello and welcome to my alluring first. I'm Scot Anderson and about a year ago I made a video on keeping my purple tang and yellow tang in the same and this went a little bit against the common wisdom common wisdom housing. You should not keep two eggs of the genus zebra soma in the same tank so that would be your purple tangs yellow tangs. Scopus tags sailfin tangs any of the zebra Salman now. I decided to break the rules and try. Light seemed in many tanks. I've seen many successful readers do it and for the first four five days. They fought a lot but after that they settled out and everything was fine. Everything was fine for like a year and then about a week ago my yellow tang snap. He decided my purple tang needed to die so our old friend pinky the yellow tang has snapped three days ago he decided that Donatello the purple tang should no longer be allowed to eat and every time Donatello comes out he beats the living crap out of him and that's not gonna fly so I've got my fish trap set up and we're trying to catch this guy so the setup is right now I've got the fish trap. Zip-tied do the center support of my aquarium. I've got a line running down down to the coffee table with a pokeyman holding everything in place so then I'm gonna I put food in. I hang out on the couch. Watch youtube videos and wait for pinky to go in the trap. I tried for days but no matter what I did no matter how long I cried. It didn't matter what food I put in. That fish would not go in the trap so we're looking at three days now four days now that neither the purple tang nor the yellow tang as easy so after four days of trying to catch this yellow tang in a fish trap. I gave up and there was no way he could stay in the tank and doing what he's doing to the purple tang and he wasn't quite a bit of aggression on the blue tang so I went nuclear literally. I took every rock out of my tank. This was the hardest decision. I've had to make in a long long time but he's out. I hate to do it. I love the fish but he cannot bully the other fish so my experiment with multiple zebra stoma tangs in the tank.
At least for me has failed. So here's pinky living in the frag tank. And he's really not that happy. I really don't know what I'm gonna do with this guy. Long time he is eating. He's just not the same fish he used to be. And it's really sad. I don't know what I'm gonna do with him. He may live down here and be part of the cleanup crew or I may trade him in and get another fish but there is absolutely no way this little guy can go back up in the main display and. I'm really sad by that anyways. Thank you for watching this episode of mile-high reefers if you like what. I do hit that like button and if you want to see more episodes subscribe. I'm always putting out new videos. Thanks again for watching.
