This video will look at using the search engine. Scopus from library search if you click onto the subject guides option blue button and go to the social sciences section in the bottom right hand corner and select criminology from here we can go to the journals tab and on the right hand side select the option for Scopus once you've opened up. Scopus you can add our search terms into the search box at palatal so I'm going to a phrase search for knife crime using the speech mouse to force to surf the search to look for the phrase and I'm going to combine that with the all option to search for the alternative terms knives or Turing's and I'm going to use the and option to look for police using the truncation symbol to look for police or policing and then I'm going to search so this search has retrieved 363 documents which you can see in the top blue bar and in the center of the screen you can see the results that you have retrieved on the right hand of the screen. You've got your options to select which year you would like to see if there is a particular author that you are interested in or a particular subject area that you would like to have a look at and if we click on to more or more sub J is listed going down you can also choose document I publication keyword etc. If we just concentrate on the middle of the screen looking at the results that have been found you can see the title and then it gives you the option to go to the shoe links to see if we have the actual full-text of the article. So now really research we can click on to the link and here we've got the the full-text of the article that we were interested in if you'd like any further help ears in Scopus and the top right hand side you have the option to click on to the help and here you've got help oh you've got tutorials if we click onto the option for tutorials.
