Hello, Scopus is a multidisciplinary bibliographic database that indexes abstracts and citation from more than 70 millions of various scholarly sources. In this tutorial we will see how you can create and manage your personal Scopus account. To access the database, click on the "Database" icon of our website's homepage and type in Scopus in the search bar. You can also enter this url: https://www.scopus.com Scopus's homepage invites you to create an account in order to save time. Creating an account can indeed allow you to save your search queries, alerts and results lists. To do so, click on the "Create Account" link in the upper-right corner. Enter your email adress, first name, last name and password. You now have a personal Scopus account. Use the log in function in the upper-right corner to access your personal account. This menu offers different options including access to your most important searches, your alerts and your saved citations. You can also choose the output format of citations in case you'd like to export them. Let's go over a couple of examples. With this search query, the following results are obtained. To save the search query, click on the "Save" link. Name your query and save it. To create an alert based on your search query, click on "Set Alert". You have the possibility to modify the parameters of your alert. After modification click on "Set Alert". To save citations in your scopus account, select a few references, then click on "save to list". Name your list of references and click on "save to list". Let's now go back to your personnal account. The option "Export references and management settings" allows you to choose the output format of citations that you would like to export. This will be useful for later. Your personal Scopus account also allows you to access your saved searches, alerts and references. We would like to export a few. Select them and then click on "RIS export" and then on "Save".
