HOW TO WRITE THE RESEARCH PROPOSAL | IMRaD FORMAT RESEARCH PAPER
Welcome to research 101. I'm your teacher miss. Ram or mrs buggs. I'm teaching research subjects for senior high school particularly research in daily life. 1 and 2. In this very short video we will discuss the research proposal. The contents and the writing format specifically we will discuss about the imrad format which is a paper structured by four main sections and is commonly used for laboratory reports scientific journals planned and systematic research in the social sciences natural sciences engineering and computer sciences. Imrad is an acronym for the four main sections of the research paper or the scientific journal. Let's start with the letter. I or the introduction. The introduction contains the background of the study the review of related literature the statement of the problem the hypothesis if applicable and the scope and limitations the second section is the letter m or the methodology it contains the research design population and sampling research instrument data gathering procedure data analysis and your methodological limitations third section is the letter r for results in this section the data or the findings are presented interpreted and analyzed and they are presented according to the presentation of the research questions in the statement of the problem the last section is for the as in discussions it includes the presentation and explanation of the major findings which is backed up by literature the acceptance or rejection of the hypothesis if applicable conclusions and recommendations. Now let's go to the contents of the research proposal remember. The proposal is different from the final paper so some contents do vary. It is also dependent on the type of research that you will do for example experimental or a secondary research regardless of the types of research. The research proposal contains an introduction and the methodology. Now let's look into the contents of these two sections for the research proposal start with introduction which contains the background of the study the literature the conceptual or theoretical framework the statement of the problem the definition of terms the hypothesis if applicable the significance of the study and the scope and limitations so there are parts such as the conceptual framework or theoretical framework the definition of terms and the significance of the study but are not included in the final paper however you need to prepare this also for your proposal because you have to defend your research study and you have to prove to the panel or to your professors why this study is significant.
What are your frameworks. And also the definition of your terms. When we write down the abstract later on these terms will also be essential for the methodology. It still contains your research design the population and the sampling technique that you will use the instrumentation or how you will draft your research tool and then your data gathering procedure and your plan for data analysis as well as your methodological limitations i will discuss individually this contents in a separate video. So don't forget to subscribe and click on the notification bell for you to be notified when i do so but for now let us discuss the contents of the research proposal for an experimental study. The introduction is basically the same it has the contents of other research proposals regardless of the type and for the methodology it still contains the research design but the main focus will be on the approach. How you will gather your data or the step-by-step experimental procedures that you will do. How will you analyze your data and the limitations of your study in terms of your approach. So that's it. I hope i was able to help you. Understand the research proposal its content and the writing format using the imrad. I hope you learned from this video and if you do please don't forget to like and subscribe and if you have other questions you can reach me through my instagram at the underscore learning underscore mama or follow me on my facebook.
