Checking your Scopus Author Record for errors
This is a short video just to show you how to check whether your Scopus off the record is correct and some academics find that they end up with duplicate of the records where they may have most of their publications under one name and then one isolated publication with another and obviously by merging them together you can get a better result of such as your H index etc. So this is how you do this. I'm just going to go to google and when I search for is Scopus or firt so if I do that I've got this here. Look up the form to search for an author profile so. I'm going to look for a key so I've got a kid name in here already so I've got a last name and first name here. I know that a keys record does appear to be incorrect. I can also search for the affiliation if I want and if I've got an orchid ID I can put that in so if I do a quick search like so I find that a key has 87 publications here by this name on the medicine economics. Ethernet it can become numb and metrics finance Social Sciences but also is 200 medicine so if I look at this most recent of titles here and copy and paste that in to the web. Got it up here. I can see this paper here which vacu did with colleagues who previously worked at Shaw so I know and also know that it's this here for the eq-5d paper that this is indeed our own aqui who works at the University of Sheffield so all I need to do is go back to this page here and then select the two profiles because there may be more than two profile there may be many different names and there may be different people and then I go into this button here request to merge authors and then that will take me to here I then need to just check say select the most recent documents so here are two publications which I know are a kiss so you need to just go in and just make sure that they are correct if you have the time it's also worth looking at which of the large number of papers are if they're all yours they may not be able in this case and physically also here's the two at the top which I want to merge with the HSN and there so I go and click start then what's her name which I'll keep as and then just review the profile so just go through here this is where you would just check that everything is yours click Next and then put in an email address or your own email address confirm that email address and submit and then it will be reviewed and if there's any issue they'll come back to you so hopefully it will condense your multiple personas into one you may find that your record is correct chances are it will be but Scopus isn't always right and I've come across an increasing number of academics especially those who publish quite a lot now where they have two different personas so it only takes ten minutes for you to check and submit and condense things together it will give you a different score potentially for such as your age index so hopefully that's useful.
