6 steps to publishing your first research paper? (Hindi)

How to publish research papers? And where should we publish it? In conferences or journals? And if we have to, should we go for paid proceedings or unpaid? All these questions and answers are going to be answered in this video. Stay tuned. So guys, this video is going to be in Hindi because a lot of you requested for this video to be made in Hindi. And obviously, all my English content is still being created, but a lot of people said that they want a research paper video in Hindi. So that's why I made this video in Hindi for you guys. Hopefully, it will help you. Do you know something? Actually, when you go to publish a research paper and you publish it in a good journal or in a good proceeding, it takes around 3 to 5 months minimum. And sometimes, it takes 1 to 1.5 years for people to publish it. Yes, this is absolutely true, guys. It's not right to take so much time because your actual research project takes time and after that, it takes so much more time. So if you are publishing a research paper in 1 to 1.5 years, it will be a slow process. That's why people work in parallel. Now, let's talk about which research paper should be published if we want to publish it. What type of research paper should be published? So, let me tell you that there are two main types of research papers. The first one is a review paper. A review paper is a paper in which other people's papers are analyzed. And then, similar papers are analyzed on a similar topic. And after analyzing them, a review is written. That yes, this author tried this approach, this author tried this approach, and then another author tried these two approaches, and so on. And finally, the best approach is this. So, this is what a review paper is. Yes, guys, these are also a type of research paper but their value is considered very low. So, this video is not going to be about them. In this video, we will talk about full-fledged research papers. Because actually, research papers are where you make a project and after doing that project, you actually publish it.

You write about it that yes, we did this project, this was its process, these were its results, we referred from here and we also saw other papers. And we felt that yes, our method is better than other methods. So, if we do something like this, this is a full-fledged research paper and its value is actually very high as compared to review papers. And that's why in this video, we will talk only about full-fledged research papers. Okay, so let's start. First of all, what is the process of making and publishing research papers? So, first of all, let me tell you that if I have to start a research paper today and I have published a lot of papers before and how will I tell you how I start? Its major process is that first of all, you have to select a research problem that on which problem you are interested in working. Now, here you don't have to see that no, I have this data, that thing. In which you are interested that yes, I have to do this thing, you have to take data from Twitter and analyze it, no, you have to design a new algorithm, whatever you have to do, you have to understand that topic first. You should know a little bit about it and you should have more interest in it than that. Because if you have interest, you will read it anyway. Okay, so first of all, select a research problem, select a topic. After that, the second step that comes to you is that you have to take some review papers on that topic. Why do you have to take review papers? Because actually, the people who do review papers, they must have read a lot of papers on that topic before and they have a lot of knowledge that they put in all the review papers. Okay, pick the latest review papers on that topic, whatever year you are in, pick the one of this year. And see which papers have been reviewed in those review papers, what approaches have been applied by other authors, what has been done that can be innovative. And then you design your own approach by looking at those approaches.

You think that yes, author A did this, B did this, C did this, maybe if I apply a hybrid approach to both of these approaches, then maybe my project will be better and there is a chance of getting a better result than this. And a lot of research papers are published like this. So what you have to do in this is you have to understand what can be an innovative way which is a little more efficient, a little more state of the art. And you have to find that way. And exactly that is called researching, understanding here that yes, what is this thing and how can I contribute to it. When you understand this thing, when you know that yes, I have to do it this way, then you execute that project. Collect the data first, then execute the actual project. Once you are done with that, your research paper is made. Basically, your project is done, so now you just have to write it on a paper, write it in a way and that's trust me, very easy. It won't take you much time for that. You can use a lot of software after that, but let's talk now, you just have to reach the result, mainly first of all. Okay, when you have reached the result, the next step after that is to select a conference or a journal. Okay, both are good, neither of them is bad. But at the same time, a lot of people do this, they present their paper in a conference but they don't see which journal that conference is linked to. So, all these things are also important to see. And we will talk about this later when we talk about conference versus journal. But both are good, whatever you understand more, you go to that, actually, hold their format, that yes, this is the format in which I have to write my paper, and in that format, write your paper. Everything will be there, you have to write introduction, abstract, you have to write methodology, then you have to write results, then you have to write conclusion, then references, so these are all common sections. And you will get everything in that.

Okay, now let's talk about which conferences or journals are reputable. So, let me tell you some series of names here which are really very reputable, which I know, and if you are going to publish your first paper, then I will tell you to stick with these only and don't go out of these. So, some names are like this, like IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, if you are staying within these series, then whatever papers you get, normally, you will get good ones. And let's talk about the ways to get good papers, but the impact factor in these series, that is very accurate. Okay, so if you are looking at some impact factor, suppose, the impact factor also varies a lot, it is possible that in computer science, some 4's impact factor is very good, but if we talk about agriculture, it is possible that even 10's impact factor is not very good. So, it depends on field to field, area to area, and finally, it also depends on the series. But the impact factors of reputable series, like IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, they are verifiable, and the actual impact factor is considered as its actual value. Because there are many such, you know, very good class, third class, a little journal, its impact factor is 15, and it is possible that the paper is not good at all. So, you have to keep that in mind, stay in these series, don't go out of these. Finally, point number 5, you have to comply with the format. If you have chosen IEEE, then there is a format of IEEE, if you have chosen Springer, then there is a format of that. By doing this, you have to make the format according to that, wherever your paper is going to be published, and after that, you have to finally submit this paper. When you submit, it is obvious, they will review, they have a special team, which reviews the papers, and checks everything, that yes, it is done properly or not. Your paper should be reputable, otherwise they will not want to publish it, obviously. Right? So, is your paper good or not? Normally, it is not rejected so suddenly, unless and until there is a big problem in your paper.

Otherwise, if all the journals are rejecting, then you have to understand what is the problem in that case. Otherwise, if you submit 2-3 journals in 5, 2-3 journals will accept it, 2-3 proceedings will accept it, and they will not accept it directly, it is very likely. They will say, you change this thing, tell it like this, write it like this, you did this process, tell me what happened in this, why did you choose this process, why didn't you do that. So, by doing this, all these changes happen, you call them iterations, mostly, these changes are there. And when you do these changes, finally, your camera-ready paper will be ready, which you have to give directly to publish the journal, and it will be published as it is. Okay, so this is a process, which you can follow. If you are doing it for the first time, I have told you a very broad process, obviously, if you want to go deep, then go as deep as you can, it does not end. Okay, but, now you just need to know this, you start with this, and obviously, where you face a problem, you can see it online. Okay, now let's talk about whether you should publish the paper in the journal or in the conference. So, friends, let me tell you one thing, in the conference, actually, publishing is not done directly, there are many conferences, which are linked to the journal. Like, there are many conferences, which, after the conference is over, once your paper is presented, they will publish your paper in IEEE, Springer, etc. If this is happening, then the conference is not bad, it is very good. But otherwise, if you are delivering and presenting your paper in the conference, then it has no value, normally, it is equal to nothing. Okay, now let me tell you the benefits of journals, first of all, it is most probably peer-reviewed. Again, it is not done every time, but if it is done, it is very good. After that, it is of high quality, if it is peer-reviewed.

Okay, second point is, it takes a lot of time to publish, because the journal process is a bit long, if it is peer-reviewed, it will take a lot of time. So, it takes more time to publish. But, if we talk about conference papers, which you have presented in the conference, then, in comparison to that, journal papers are worth at least twice as much. I am not saying that if you have published through a conference, that is also very good, but if you have presented it in a conference, as compared to somewhere else, then journal papers are obviously worth twice as much. Now, let's come to your final question, that is, should we go for paid journals, or should we go for non-paid or unpaid? So, if I tell you the answer to this, see, unpaid is better in most cases, but it is not always like that. Okay, because unpaid is very slow. If you are going to publish in a journal, and you are paying a little charge, then it can be very fast, and its reach can be very high. So, they charge you for this. Okay, publishing in a journal becomes easier if you are paying. But, at the same time, if you are paying, then generally it will be fast, and its value will be a little less. It happens that sometimes, not every time, there are exceptional cases, sometimes it can happen that you publish in a free journal, and the journal turns out to be bad. But, in most cases, free journals are actually better, but it takes a lot of time. and it takes a lot of time to publish it can take a year and that is a normal scenario if you are going to a paid one you can negotiate with them if they say the charge is $100 you can say that you can't pay $100 I can't pay it if your paper is good and accepted they will lower it to $75-$50 that is very common and I have seen this many times so trust me you can definitely negotiate now I would like to tell you a few things if you are publishing research papers most probably you are a student or a researcher so I am telling you about a community where you can also take part and there are a lot of other people who are students, researchers, professionals who connect with each other so basically what you can do is you can go to wyomgrad.

Com I will leave the link in the description you can sign up over here and there are a lot more students from India, overseas, all over the world you can connect with them finally, if you don't know how to publish research papers and you want to do it under my mentorship or under someone else from my team then this can happen we can help you with that and we have excellent PhD students who can help you in all this they are called seasoned researchers so for that you can take a look at the research paper drafting and publishing help service it is here on wyomgrad.com finally, one more thing you have to send your research papers for plagiarism check before publishing the journals themselves check plagiarism they check your plagiarism on Turnitin so if you want to do that, we can offer that as well and that's over here, plagiarism check report so this is how the report looks like and you can see the plagiarism is less and it is good, obviously we don't recommend if it is more than 10% then it is difficult to publish apart from that I hope this video helps you and I have made this video in Hindi for the first time in a long time so please subscribe to the channel and let me know how you liked it I got a lot of requests for this video so I made it, otherwise I don't make it and now I have made it, so please show me your love let me know how you liked it thank you so much for watching, I will see you in the next one ????.
